It is the mission of OnHand Schools to provide a simple to use, but powerful technology solution that delivers the right information to teachers and administrators. Improving student performance is difficult and requires a systematic approach.
Research shows that teachers are the key component in the educational process. Each student has a different learning profile. Teachers must differentiate their instructional approach for individual students. In order to create a successful differentiation plan, certain factors pertaining to each student must be evaluated carefully.
In order for student improvement to occur, the district must act on the student data. Teachers need a resource that they can turn to that provides them with suggested instructional strategies. OnHand Schools is leading a consortium of school districts focused on drawing insight from information that leads to new instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches for their students.

In the current climate of greater accountability and increasing expectations, progress toward long term goals for improving public education depends on accurate, up to date, and complete student information. Access to critical student information must be possible for every stakeholder. Teachers and administrators must understand the context and implications of the data being reported.
Data warehouse solutions have a place in education, but they have proven too complex and too costly for most districts. In practice, data warehouses have been found to be beyond the reach of most teachers and principals. This leaves them in the domain of the administration for specialized reporting, compliance and strategic planning.
Teachers on the frontline of education benefit most from simple tools to routinely access student data. Yet, this seemingly obvious need is rarely met with existing tools. |

Using the EdInsight toolset, the teacher will be able to easily find student deficiencies. The teacher will then be provided with a rich library of resources created and used by teachers. Teachers will no longer be required to access multiple data stores and have multiple login accounts. EdInsight will be his/her view into every student's assessments, state tests, attendance, grades, assignments, IEPs, demographic information, and more.

"Previously, gaining access to student information was very difficult. Simple pieces of data (student grades, state test scores) were very difficult to obtain. Detailed information about how my students performed on the specific areas of the state assessments required requests to the Guidance Department. Through Edinsight, I have access to my students' performance in a detailed, but easy to use format. This is the information that is beneficial when making instructional decisions." |
