Viewing Data Set Bar Charts


Understanding the chart

In the previous screen, x axis and y axis fields were chosen, generating a chart similar to the one above. X-axis fields will appear along the bottom of the chart, while the y-axis fields list only the integer fields from the data set and measure the data in the graph vertically. The user chose a summary operation which was applied to the data to generate the chart. 'Average of' is selected by default, other options include: Sum, Minimum and Maximum.

The chart itself details all of the possible combinations of the x and y-axis fields and generates a bar chart based on them. If too many fields are chosen, the chart may become difficult to read. The grid below the bar chart displays all of the data from the data set. Click a bar in the graph to filter the information in the grid to contain ONLY the data used to generate that part of the graph.
