OnHand Schools' University e-Courses
OnHand Schools provides the EdInsight Data Window to students registered in Data Informed Decision Making University and College courses. Required limited use subscription: Spring 2012 - Starting 1/14/2012
The On Hand Schools tool provides a user-friendly central data “window” through which a school leader can view multiple measures of critical data as identified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education collected from various sources. This tool will be used to guide data based decisions and to guide the design of instruction and assessments that maximize student achievement results. ED647 Leading Schools with Data Driven Decision Making
This graduate course provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyze student and school-based data for the purpose of creating an organizational vision and instructional environment that focuses on teaching and learning. The role data plays in standards-based reform is also discussed along with how data can guide the development of a strategic plan that focuses on higher student achievement. The course covers the school leader’s role in data based decision making as well as the teacher’s role and the student’s role. Data tools for improving teaching and learning are studied as well as techniques and strategies for collecting and assessing data.
